Presidential Candidate of the National Democratic Congress, John Mahama says the next government under his leadership would commit substantial investments to agro-processing in the Volta Region to accelerate development.

Volta Region has a lot of potential. It has a lot of investments in Agriculture that could feed our people, provide employment of our youth and export food, and earn money from outside.

He continued: “It has a lot of potential in agro-processing, adding value to the crops we produce because we want to develop the full potential of this region so that our people will be able to finish school here find work here and be able to be responsible citizens in the Volta Region.”

In a separate interaction with traders in the Ho West Constituency, the Presidential Candidate of the NDC said he plans to split the constituency to foster development if voted into office.

“I wish to assure you we ourselves know about the issue of Ho West so when the process starts, my expectation is that your MP will lead you, you will present a petition asking for a re-demarcation of Ho West so we can split it by constituency or by district,” the NDC leader told the traders. Mr. Mahama said the presidential election in December was about “change or more of the same” and urged rally attendees to make change happen.
