DKT International, producers of modern day contraceptives, which is also into social marketing, has organized a day’s training workshop for Pharmacists and Over the Counter (drug store) operators on the side effects of contraceptives at Techiman in the Bono East region.

The one day regional workshop which was held at AJ plaza hotel, brought together over 100 participants across the districts under the stewardship of DKT

The General Manager of DKT, Mr Abdulai Adamu, who headed the training workshop, took the participants through modern day contraceptives and how to enhance their safety in a fast emerging competitive world.

He also focused on the capacity of increase availability and affordability of quality birth control methods which is achieved by strengthening the supply chain and improving the various methods and how to blend them mix .

The session used social enterprising model to better the lives of the citizenry .

Mr Adamu, explained that one of the essence of the training was for medical experts to track drugs and their side effects and health free system compliance model.

He said “we at DKT never underestimated the adverse side effect of any drugs and it main focus was to prevent harm with the marketing authorization or outside marketing authorization”.

“Some people use product out of label and for that matter we need you to partner with DKT to unlock the perception of the people and also educate them on the crisis and the importance to report on any side effect when they experience it”, he urged the participants.

Mr Adamu, used the occasion to appeal to Ghanaians to purchase drugs produced by DKT International because they strictly adheres to the rules and regulations of the Food and Drugs Authority.

Which makes their product subjected to third party testing, and also operate with World Health Organization (WHO) pre-qualified facilities.

Mr Abdulai Adamu, urged parent to do the needful and make good use of modern day contraceptive in order to prevent unwanted pregnancy.

DKT International nationwide tour in all the regions in Ghana are under the influence of both the company management to educate the Ghanaian populace on ADR.

In attendance at the workshop were other health related bodies such as the Ghana Health Services, Pharmacy Council, Ghana Registered Nurses Association, Food and Drug Authority, Lydia Partner Clinic and Lydia Partner Pharmacy.
