Exactly 35 years ago.This mosque has a long history. It was built in the 1880’s. And there were great Imams of that time. Before the brought the teaching of Islam in the mosque. So when the mosque was demolished, then the teaching of the Quran moved from Accra Rawlings park to the new Mosque at Abbosey okai. Before the mosque was demolished it was addressed to some of the elders and great men but they refuse to allow the government to demolish the mosque, by asking the government to demolish it with them inside the mosque, this went on for two weeks with much confusion, but at the end of it all it was demolished but before it was demolished.
