NPP MPs now puppets of Akufo- Addo – NDC’s Chris Dugan

A member of the Communication team of the National Democratic Congress, (NDC) has taken a swipe at his opponents, the New Patriotic Party (NPP), for reducing themselves to puppets of the President.
Christopher Dugan who was contributing to a discussion on the vote of censure tabled against the Minister of Finance, Ken Ofori Atta, said for majority of NPP MPs who openly stated reasons for their call on the minister to go and now turn to make conflicting statements to back their reason not to partake in proceedings to that effect is shameful.
He argued that, the unconvincing reasons assigned for their decision to boycott the motion tabled by the NDC only exposes the fear to act on their conscience.
“Over 90 of the NPP MPs have said that they are acting on the wishes of the people they represent in encouraging the dismissal of the Finance Minister, Ken Ofori- Atta because the Finance Minister is responsible for their hardship. The same MPs after meeting Akufo-Addo said they are buying time and after the directive from the party, they say NDC has ill motive and they cannot join the action against the Finance Minister?” he emphasized today on TV XYZ’s current affairs programme, Dwaboase.
Mr Dugan described the development as bad faith and a clear manifestation of a group not working in the interest of their constituents but simply to please their masters.
The constituents will surely see them as ‘rags’ as he put it in the Akan language suggesting the value on them is lost.
The comment comes after the NPP General Secretary, Justin Koduah Frimpong, gave a directive to the NPP MPs to boycott the vote of censure today, November 10, 2022.
