Your infantile fabrications won’t work, and I’m prepared for another vetting – Ablakwa

Minister-designate for Foreign Affairs, Samuel Okudzeto Ablakwa, has fired back at the minority caucus over claims they have made about him following his appearance before the Appointments Committee.

In a Facebook post, Mr. Ablakwa took on the minority, wondering why they failed to confront him with anything they had on him when he appeared to be vetted and has now decided to use what he described as “infantile fabrications.”

He said the minority is now using desperate press conferences to tarnish his image. The North Tongu Member of Parliament said the New Patriotic Party (NPP) had every opportunity to investigate and prosecute him when they were in office but failed to do so because they had nothing on him.

Mr. Ablakwa added that he was prepared to appear before the Vetting Committee to be vetted for the second time.

It is not a crime for a Member of Parliament to patriotically and diligently seek the protection of public resources and state assets pursuant to our constitutional mandate of oversight.”

They had every opportunity when I appeared before them for vetting but they chose to ran away.

They had every opportunity when they were in power for 8 years to have me prosecuted but they failed because there was nothing they could find.

Now they have resorted to desperate smear press conferences and infantile fabrications.

If they want a second round of vetting, I am ready for them.

It is not a crime for a Member of Parliament to patriotically and diligently seek the protection of public resources and state assets pursuant to our constitutional mandate of oversight.

Those on the side of truth and justice can never be intimidated.

I shall remain focused on President Mahama’s exciting reset innovations which we are on the verge of implementing at the Foreign Ministry.

For God and Country.
