Singaporean Placed on Ghana Immigration Stop List Over Legal Suit …Hon. Ashie Moore Issues Public Notice Dissociating from Mr. Toh You Kang
In a decisive move to protect his reputation and clarify his involvement in an unfolding international business controversy, Hon. Emmanuel Nii Ashie Moore, Greater Accra Regional Chairman of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), has issued a formal public notice dissociating himself from Mr. Toh You Kang, a Singaporean national previously linked to business transactions in Ghana.
According to Hon. Ashie Moore, Mr. Kang was initially recommended by his Chinese business partners, Foshan Yuejiaxin Wire & Cable Co., Ltd., based in Foshan City, Guangdong Province, China. Mr. Kang’s role was to assist in facilitating business transactions on behalf of the company due to his fluency in English and supposed reliability.
However, the relationship has since soured following serious allegations of financial misconduct. Hon. Moore stated that he has received a formal disclaimer from his Chinese partners, completely severing their relationship with Mr. Kang and accusing him of fraudulent activities.
The official statement from Foshan Yuejiaxin Wire & Cable Co., Ltd. reads:
“Mr. TOH YOU KANG has been implicated in a series of fraudulent activities that have resulted in the loss of several millions of dollars to our company through various transactions conducted across Asia and Africa, with a particular focus on operations in Ghana.
He is presently facing multiple charges of fraud in Ghana, where significant funds entrusted to him, both by our company and Mr. Emmanuel Ashie Moore, for legitimate business purposes were misappropriated.
Foshan Yuejiaxin Wire & Cable Co., Ltd. is fully cooperating with the relevant investigative and legal authorities. Our Managing Director, Ms. Liang Liubing, has personally visited Ghana, provided evidence to the Ghana Police Service, and submitted an official statement to aid investigations.
We reaffirm our support for Mr. Emmanuel Ashie Moore in his pursuit of justice and remain committed to seeing this matter resolved lawfully.”
Because of this development, Hon. Ashie Moore emphasised that he is taking similar steps to ensure clarity and prevent any further misrepresentations regarding his dealings with Mr. Kang.
“Effective immediately, I officially dissociate myself from Mr. Toh You Kang in all matters related to business dealings or transactions,” Hon. Moore said. “This public notice is issued in the interest of transparency and to protect the integrity of all parties involved.”
The situation has taken on a legal dimension. Referencing Suit No. CR/0530/2025, our checks revealed that the Ghana Immigration Service, upon legal directive, has placed Mr. Kang on the national stop list. This action prevents Mr. Kang from entering or exiting Ghana through any official port of entry.
Although details of the legal proceedings remain confidential, the issuance of the stop list order indicates the gravity of the accusations and the likelihood of criminal prosecution.
The general public and all stakeholders have been strongly advised to take note of these developments and exercise due diligence in all matters relating to Mr. Toh You Kang.
