The Member of Parliament for Sekondi, Blay Nyameke Armah, has launched a GHS10 million Sekondi Educational Fund aimed at drastically reducing the growing number of school dropouts in the constituency.

The fund will provide free buses and educational materials to all students in Sekondi. Speaking at the launch of the initiative, the MP announced that the distribution of free buses and books — an extension of his ongoing support for students — will officially begin in the last quarter of this year.

He emphasised that the goal is to eliminate transportation and learning material challenges that often force students out of school. Aware of this challenge even before his election victory in 2024, the MP had already begun distributing free books to hundreds of students across Sekondi.

Now seeking to broaden that impact, he has officially launched the GHS10 million Sekondi Educational Fund, which will provide free books and buses for all students in the area. Explaining his motivation, the MP said his aim is to ensure that lack of books or transportation never becomes a reason for any child in Sekondi to drop out of school.
