Our efforts to stabilize the economy already yielding results – Mahama

President John Dramani Mahama is touting his government’s efforts to stabilize the economy, indicating that policy measures have begun to yield the desired results.
Speaking during a Thank You tour of the Upper West Region on Thursday, the president pledged his administration will walk “shoulder to shoulder” with citizens to ensure that his transformation agenda presented to the electorate during his 2024 presidential campaign, is achieved.
The administration has been recording early successes on the economic front, including a significant four-month cedi appreciation against the dollar and potential moves by local traders to reduce prices of their goods and services.
Fuel prices, which frequently contribute to inflation, have also seen a decline.
The president credited his administration’s measures for providing stability to the Ghanaian economy.
“Our efforts to stabilize the economy have begun to yield fruits. And it is evident in the improved performance of our local currency and a gradual reduction of prices of goods and services,” the touring head of state averred.
He congratulated the Minister of Finance, Dr. Cassiel Ato Forson and the Central Bank Governor, Dr. Johnson Asiama, for their “close collaboration” in turning the country’s economic fortunes around.
President Mahama has resumed his Thank You tour, a visit to regions across the country to express appreciation for his commanding mandate in the December 7 election last year.
The tour started in the Volta Region on 24th January, 2025.
