The National Communications Officer of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), Sammy Gyamfi, has praised former President John Dramani Mahama’s economic record, describing it as exemplary and well-suited to lead Ghana’s economic recovery. Speaking on JoyNews’ *Newsfile* programme on Saturday, November 9, Mr Gyamfi contrasted Mahama’s record with what he termed as the “mismanagement” of the economy under the current Akufo-Addo/Bawumia administration.

According to Mr Gyamfi, the New Patriotic Party (NPP) government has failed the Ghanaian people, leading to an economic downturn that has left many Ghanaians struggling with rising costs and diminished opportunities.

He argued that Mahama’s past governance demonstrated a commitment to fiscal discipline, prudent resource management, and investments in infrastructure that directly benefited the Ghanaian population.

“The Akufo-Addo/Bawumia administration has clearly lost control over the economy, bringing hardship to the ordinary Ghanaian,” he asserted.

Mr Gyamfi further expressed confidence that Mahama’s “proven track record” in economic management would be a decisive factor in the upcoming election.

He emphasised that Ghanaians are looking for leadership that prioritises their welfare and restores stability, which he believes Mahama is best suited to deliver.

“Mr Mahama is a leader with experience and understanding of the Ghanaian economy. Ghanaians will vote for him to steer the country forward,” Gyamfi stated.

The NDC spokesperson urged voters to consider the current state of the economy and the NDC’s commitment to policies that promote sustainable growth and social welfare.

With a call for change, Gyamfi emphasised that Mr Mahama’s return would represent a fresh opportunity to address economic challenges and implement solutions that foster a prosperous future for all Ghanaians.
