Dr Robert Kofi Doh, one of seven persons who contested the Ho Central parliamentary primaries for the National Democratic Congress has thrown his support for the party’s candidate, Richmond Edem Kpotosu.

Richmond Edem Kpotosu won the race to lead the Ho Central constituency into the 2024 elections following a decision by the incumbent Member of Parliament, Benjamin Komla Kpodo not to contest again.

But as the campaign heats up for the December 7, polls, Dr Doh, the closest contender in the primaries has announced an unflinching endorsement for Mr Kpotosu, the parliamentary candidate. He told Starr News in an interview that, “I come from Ho Central, this is my home, so I’m home to support my parliamentary candidate, Edem Kpotosu, and that the vote ever obtained by NDC parliament candidates in Ho Central and also, to give the biggest vote ever to our flagbearer, John Dramani Mahama.” Dr. Doh refuted any hopes of the New Patriotic Party snatching the Ho Central seat, a seat that has been the reserve of the NDC since 1992.

“Volta is NDC and NDC is Volta, NDC doesn’t forget Volta but Volta was forgotten in a major budget under this government so anybody, any party’s candidate who stands on any platform to say that he will win or snatch the Ho Central seat is just glorifying his desires and wishes. Come December 7, Ho Central will send another NDC person to Parliament and that will be Hon. Kpotosu with a resounding victory,” he added.

In line with his endorsement, Dr. Doh, has made a donation of GHC4,000 to fuel campaign activities in the constituency He has also presented 1000 pieces of campaign stickers designed with pictures of Mr Kpotosu and the flag bearer, John Dramani Mahama to enhance visibility for the two candidates in the Ho Central constituency. The constituency Chairman, Franklyn Gedzia who received the donation, expressed his gratitude for the gesture from Dr Doh and assured him of putting them to good use.

He, however, appealed to other party members to support the campaign with paraphernalia and other campaign logistics to ensure victory for the party in December.
