The Sissala West Constituency Nasara Coordinator of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) in the Upper West region, Musah Walaika Iddrisu, has been attacked and inflicted with cutlass wounds which has left him in a state of battling for his life at the Upper West Regional hospital.
Nadisco news gathered that he was allegedly assaulted by some unknown assailants within the Sisala West Constituency.
Sources have it that , the Nasara Coordinator was physically attacked on the night of Easter Monday at Gwollu the Sisala West district capital.
Mr. Walaika Iddrisu is currently on admission at the Upper West Regional Hospital as Police in the area commenced investigations into the matter.
The Easter Monday’s night attack on Mr. Walaika was said to be the second in a series of attacks he suffered within the constituency.
The victim has been the Nasara Coordinator for the Constituency since 2009 and he is currently seeking re-election in the upcoming Constituency Executive Elections of the party.
In another development a cross section of the NPP in the constituency allied to the Nasara coordinator organized a press conference on Wednesday the 20th of April 2022 to drum home their concern on the attack of the nasara coordinator Mr Wailaki
Reading the press statement Mr Abdul Rauf Zini alleged that the attack on the nasara coordinator was orchestrated by the Upper West Regional minister Dr Hafiz Bin Salih.
According to him the posturing and actions of the Upper West Regional minister pointed to the fact that the Dr Hafiz Bin Salih was the main master mind behind the attack.
He said the Regional Minister used his position as the reg Security Council head by deploying soldiers in the constituency to harass constituency party executives and mentioned that at point the regional minister became so interested as to who becomes a member of the NPP constituency executive within the constituency and this interest is the cause of the current confusion leading to the “butchering” of the nasara coordinator
He said the preferred candidate of the Regional Minister is one Majid Limann who is gunning for the position of a constituency chairman and alleged that people connected to Majid Liman and the Regional Minister were the attackers of the Nasara Coordinator.
He described the attack on the Nasara coordinator as Something akin to the work of a butcher cutting his meat for sale and said that was the same way the Nasara Coordinator was butchered.
Mr Abdul Rauf Zini described the arrest of two persons so far connected to the attack as nothing short of window dressing and a face saving measure and mentioned the names of several persons they believed are connected to the incident.
They questioned also the inaction of the police and officials of the National Bureau of Investigations(NIB) for their inability to be decisive in handling the entire situation and this he said was as a result of the manipulative tactics of the Regional Minister Dr Hafiz Bin Salih.
The regional minister Dr Hafiz Bin Salih when contacted said he would not like to comment on the matter.
