An Appeal to the Leadership of the National Democratic Congress: A Call for Recognition and Appointment as MCE

The strength of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) has always been its ability to recognize, reward, and empower individuals who have dedicated their lives to the party’s success. The party thrives on loyalty, experience, and dedication, ensuring that those who have sacrificed immensely for its growth are given opportunities to contribute meaningfully to governance and national development.

In light of this, I humbly appeal to the highest-ranking members of the NDC to consider my extensive contributions, experience, and unwavering loyalty to the party by appointing me as the Municipal Chief Executive (MCE) for the Korle Klottey Municipal Assembly.

A Legacy of Dedication and Service

My journey with the NDC began in 1992 when I was selected alongside Sammy Okantey as a Trainers’ Trainer for NDC Polling Agents in the Korle Klottey Constituency. At that time, I served as the Tudu Cell Deputy Secretary and was later appointed as the Acting Deputy Youth Organizer. My commitment to the party saw me train all polling agents in the constituency, contributing significantly to the party’s electoral success.

In 2014, my dedication was recognized when I was elected as the Chairman of the Korle Klottey Constituency. As Chairman, I played a pivotal role in unifying the party, mobilizing resources, and ensuring that the NDC maintained its stronghold in the constituency. My contributions went beyond just politics—I personally financed party activities, provided logistics, secured a befitting office for the party, and ensured that executive members had the necessary motivation to actively participate in party affairs.

During the 2020 elections, I served as the Constituency Campaign Manager, overseeing the campaign strategy that resulted in a resounding victory for the NDC in Korle Klottey. I personally financed numerous campaign activities, mobilized grassroots supporters, and ensured that all 11 wards in the constituency were well-coordinated and resourced.

Academic and Professional Qualifications

Beyond my political engagements, I have equipped myself with the necessary academic and professional qualifications to serve effectively as an MCE. I hold:

• A Master’s Degree in Logistics Management from Coventry University, UK.
• A Postgraduate Diploma in Entrepreneurship from the University of Cape Coast.
• A Business Administration degree from Wisconsin University.
• An HND in Management and Secretaryship from Accra Polytechnic.
• RSA Stage III (Whitsun Series) from Accra Polytechnic.

Additionally, I served as a government appointee at the Accra Metropolitan Assembly (AMA) from 2012 to 2016 under the tenure of Hon. Nii Armah Ashitey (MP), where I actively participated in key decision-making processes for the development of Accra.

A Call for Fair Recognition and Appointment

Despite my extensive contributions and qualifications, I have recently faced exclusion from the shortlist of nominees for the MCE position in Korle Klottey. This decision has been met with disappointment from many party loyalists, grassroots members, and stakeholders who recognize my contributions and capabilities.

While some supporters have called for demonstrations and public outcry, I urge calm and diplomacy. I believe that the leadership of our great party—the NDC—will recognize my efforts and ensure that dedication and competence are rewarded accordingly.

The role of an MCE requires an individual who understands the constituency, has strong grassroots support, and has demonstrated leadership in governance and development. My track record clearly speaks for itself, and I am confident that I possess the experience, skills, and passion needed to serve Korle Klottey diligently in this capacity.

I humbly appeal to the National Executive Committee, the Greater Accra Regional leadership, and all key stakeholders within the NDC to consider my candidacy and grant me the opportunity to continue serving the party and the people of Korle Klottey in an official capacity as MCE.

My loyalty remains unwavering, and I am committed to advancing the cause of the NDC and ensuring that we achieve even greater victories in the years ahead.
