Hopeson Adorye, Director of Special Duties at the Movement for Change, has revealed that the controversial Agyapadie documents are more tribal than political in nature. In an interview with Bismarck Brown on Happy 98.9 FM’s “Epa ho a Daben” show, Adorye emphasized that the documents’ contents are driven by family interests rather than political ideology.

Adorye had previously raised concerns about the documents in 2022, but his warnings were ignored. He quoted a portion of the documents, which states: “As the heads of Nana Apianim Kwamframa, Nana Kuntunkununku, and Ofori Panin, our people were never defeated in the wars of old… yet after 1957, we were made to live in the shadows of descendants of people who never defeated us in war, whilst the Ashanti Kingdom was uplifted to put us in the shade.”

Adorye argued that this passage clearly shows that the Agyapadie documents are driven by a family agenda to gain power, rather than any political or NPP-related issues. He emphasized that the family members involved are using the NPP platform to further their own interests.
