The NDC, the Regional Zongo Caucus, yesterday in collaboration with the National Zongo Caucus leadership, took Accra by storm with a street campaign. The aftermath of the party’s manifesto is building up the zeal and tenacity among Ghanaians from all walks of life.

The National Zongo caucus has not left out of their strategy the need to take the messages and policy programmes outlined in the NDC manifesto to the door steps of the Ghanaian populace.

The campaign took the leadership to market centres and homes of individuals in the Ayawaso East and North constituencies to promote the “Building Ghana We Want” Message.

Topical in the campaign message were the benefits of the 24-hour economy and the “National Women’s Bank,” which is glaringly resonating with the masses. The response and enthusiasm of the residences and small business owners along the streets enjoyed by the Zongo team was heart elating and inspiring.

The questions on education, agriculture, trade, gender-related issues, and skilled workers all had satisfactory responses from the Zongo team. However, there were questions about the NPP corruption and how the NDC would be dealing with the perpetrators of these disheartening crimes against the country.

Some business owners and managers and residents domiciled in the toured areas also proposed some line of action and punishments for the corrupt members of the NPP administration when John D. Mahama takes over in January 2024.

Another prevalent issue noticed by the Zongo team during the door-to-door tour was the passion to vote out the NPP and the deep-seated anger they have caused with the never-ending hardship meted to the good people of Ghana.

It is worth noting that the economic macabre through the nuisance taxation and the high cost of living in Ghana is raising tensions higher in the country.

Business owners also described the NPP government as an old slave mill grinding and crushing the once viabrantly budding economy left by John Dramane Mahama and the NDC.

It is comforting to note that this year’s general election will be about the strengths of the Zongo support.

As such, the National Zongo Caucus has resolved not to leave a stone unturned to ensure a resounding victory for the NDC and John Mahama come 7th Dec 2024.
