Vice President Prof. Naana Jane Opoku-Agyemang, on Monday, August 18, met with the leadership of the Ghana Prisons Service, led by Director General Mrs. Patience Baffoe-Bonnie, to discuss challenges facing the Service and strategies to address them.

The Vice President emphasized the need for stronger public education and urged closer collaboration with other state institutions and the media. She also commended the Service for its interventions, particularly its growing agricultural initiatives.
Prof. Opoku-Agyemang assured the leadership of government’s commitment to improving conditions within the Prisons Service.
As a responsible nation, it is our duty to ensure dignified conditions for inmates, to offer meaningful reforms, and to provide the necessary support for their reintegration into society,” she stated.
